yelyah - “brain pill 20110930” piano improv
Question of the day: when do we get those matrix style instantaneous brain uploads?
I know kung fu.
It’s 2011, so come on already.
See, I was sitting and playing piano and just wishing I could get Tori Amos’ skill. Ya know, without having to do all of the years and years of practice she put into it.
In this ever increasing I WANT IT NOW society, it really does make me wonder if we’ll see a sharp drop off in the number of people who have skills that take lots of painful hours to get really good at.
But then again, we also have built a society where joe or jane schmoe doesn’t have to be the greatest at X in the world in order to get an audience. And therefore, people who might’ve eventually given up on a dream and become something boring like a doctor or lawyer instead end up actually pursuing their dream because people are actually listening. And that’s enough of a push to get them through all of the painful hours.
On a somewhat randomly related note, it’s nearly October. And I have this thing about starting fresh at the beginning of the month. Or dreaming big. IT’S A NEW MONTH MAN, ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE! I’m thinking about going for a nanowrimo like effort, but in non-fiction. Mostly in web page building. Which of course makes it harder to keep score in a nanowrimo like fashion (like can I count all of my html tags as part of 1667 words/day?).
See, and how I’ll make this related is that I’ve found an audience of my own for my writing.
My audience is google bot.
