I have (by my standards) stumbled onto an instant hit web-wise.
One of my niche website experiments has taken off (again, by my standards) and it’s lovely.
It’s also filled with fear.
See, Bing is the one that loves me and I’ve already launched a few sites and watched them rank decently high in the beginning and then quickly slip off the front page.
My success is tied to Bing. Oh !@$#
So now the race is on to try to figure out how to best maximize the visitors I’m getting while I’m still getting them.
Since I’ve already plugged the site here before, it’s the site based around the Dr Oz Green Drink Recipe.
Here’s the larger problem, the content is not unique. It can be had from anywhere. And I’m not Dr. Oz so it’s not like I have some clout that I can use to continue to get traffic even if I fall out of the top 10.
What I think I’ve settled on is trying to come up with something that does make my site more useful than the others. And the thing is that I have to figure what it is now while I’m still in the top 10 and getting visitors.
See the hope is that I’ll figure out something so awesome that even that even if I fall out of the top 10, the initial few that see it think that it’s so awesome that they share it with friends who share it with friends, blah blah blah, you know the rest right?
